Stanley J. Zapotocki, 79, of Bethlehem, PA passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 in his home in Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Frances (Petrosky) and Stanley Zapotocki, Sr. He was married to Elizabeth (Aleba) Zapotocki with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Stanley served his country honorably during the Korean War. He was in the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry as a Sergeant, where he earned a Korean Service medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) and a United Nation Service Medal. He also worked at the Bethlehem Steel in the Metallurgical Lab for 39 years. He was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Bethlehem and a lifelong member of the North End Wanderers.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty", children, Liz Mathers of Hummelstown, Stanley Zapotocki II and wife Nancy of Hellertown, Kathie Zapotocki and husband Tim Reilly of Zionsville and Nancy Zapotocki and husband Matt Graves of Kalispell, MT, sisters, Josephine Zapotocki of New Tripoli and Frances Z. King of Bethlehem. Stanley is also survived by 4 granddaughters, Beth, Jennifer, Becky and Michele and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Greenfield.

SERVICES
A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 7-8:30 PM at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. Another viewing will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem, with Military Honors.

Memorial contributions may be made in Stanley's name to the church.
