John Kalbermatten, 77, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, February 26, 2009 surrounded by his family at his residence.
He was born in Luzern, Switzerland the son of the late Hans Kalbermatten and Philomena Schmucki.
John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nelly L. (Moritz) Kalbermatten.
He worked as a professional engineer for the city of Bethlehem, the World Health Organization, retiring from the World Bank in 1986. John
continued as a private consultant for 14 years.
John will be lovingly remembered by his family, wife, Nelly; son, Marc J. Kalbermatten of Munich, Germany; daughters, Brigitte C. wife of Thomas J. Yencho, Jr of Bethlehem and Leslie A. wife of Mike E. Goldberg of
Washington, D.C., as well as eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem on Monday, March 2, 2009 from 8-10 AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday March 2, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem,
PA 18018.
Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
