James "Jim" J. Reidy

James J Reidy, 91, of Bethlehem, passed away January 30, 2010 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was the husband of Rose (Rader) Reidy with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage last June 25th. Born in Jim Thorpe, PA on May 8, 1918, he was the son of the late Thomas F. Reidy and Grace (Collins) Reidy. Prior to his retirement in 1982, Jim worked for 42 years in the accounting and environmental control departments of the Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus also serving as a Grand Knight for Trinity Council 313, Jim was known for his devotion to his family, humility, generosity and for his Irish wit & charm. He will be truly missed.

Survivors: In addition to his wife Rose, he is survived by a son, Thomas F. Reidy of Brooklyn, New York; three daughters Rosemary Reidy Foreman and her husband Dr. Bruce Foreman of El Paso, Texas, Anne Reidy Hull and her husband, Thomas of Pottsville, PA, Patricia Reidy Dobkin and her husband Jeffrey of Bala Cynwyd, PA. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Rebecca Reidy Foreman, Kali Hull, Danielle Reidy Dobkin, Adam Reidy Dobkin and Nicole Reidy Dobkin. His brother, Rev. Thomas F. Reidy, OSFS, preceded Jim in death.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 AM.

Burial immediately following at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice 2166 South 12th Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
